Saflink Responds to Unusual Trading Volume

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 18, 2005--Saflink(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:SFLK) today stated that its normal policy is not to comment on unusual market activity and that it is not aware of any reason for Monday's higher than average trading volume and stock price decline.

According to Glenn Argenbright, President and CEO of Saflink, "We don't typically comment on unusual market activity, industry speculation or rumors. However, in light of recent trading activity in our stock, we felt it was important that we communicate with our shareholders to let them know that we are not aware of any material, undisclosed information that would contribute to yesterday's decline or unusually high trading volume. We believe that we've built the appropriate suite of products and solutions to serve the needs of both public sector and commercial customers, as the demand for trusted authentication solutions grows."
