Expert to Discuss Federal Security Standards and Practical Applications of Biometric Authentication
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., June 20 --
What: This week at the Federal Information Security Conference (FISC), Walter Hamilton of Saflink® Corporation will deliver a presentation entitled "Biometrics - A Key Component of Federal Personal Identity Verification." In his presentation, Walter will report on the current status of Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201, also know as Personal Identity Verification (PIV) of federal employees and contractors as well as describe practical uses for biometric authentication in a PIV context. He will also present several approaches for biometric implementation of PIV that extend beyond the requirements of FIPS 201.
