The International Biometric Industry Association (IBIA) is a trade association founded in 1998 and headquartered in Washington, DC. The Biometric Foundation (TBF), founded in August 2000, is a non-profit foundation organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Tax Code. TBF works to overcome impediments to biometric applications by conducting technology-neutral research, evaluation, and educational programs. TBF activities provide a premier independent resource for scientists, policymakers, and citizens to utilize in considering biometrically-enabled applications.
