EntryPoint

Saflink® EntryPoint™, Standard Edition utilizes a dedicated security appliance, client software and USB tokens to provide a new level of convenience and security for Windows logon.

Security Appliance

  • Stand-alone device engineered in an integrated, 1U, rack-mountable Intel-based hardware appliance format.
  • Available in multiple user solution bundles and delivered with EntryPoint appliance software.
  • Can be deployed by an administrator in less than one hour.

Appliance Software

  • Easy-to-use configuration setup and web management interface keeps the administrator’s time to a minimum:
    • Installation is managed by a web-based graphical user interface that guides administrator through a series of simple installation steps.
    • Maintenance tasks are performed using an intuitive web management interface.
  • Appliance logs all user authentication activity for monitoring and forensic purposes, enabling robust third-party reporting capabilities, if needed.
  • Powered by Microsoft Windows® Server 2003.

Client Software

  • Replaces Windows passwords with standard or biometrically-protected USB flash drives.
  • More secure log-on for Windows workstations and networks.
  • Installs on Windows XP Professional client workstations and laptops.
  • Easy-to-use wizard for registering USB drives and managing tokens.
  • Simple installation — can be silently installed or pushed using Active Directory.

USB Tokens

  • EntryPoint enables USB 1.1 and 2.0 flash drives to be repurposed as USB tokens that employees use for Windows logon and logoff instead of passwords.
    • Using standard, off-the-shelf USB flash drives keeps price lower and implementation easier.
  • On-board biometric process ensures that all biometric functions, including fingerprint credentials, don't leave the secure USB drive.
    • EntryPoint uses USB TokensNo extra biometric devices to manage.
    • Memory available for secure storage.
    • Data protected if lost or stolen.
  • At least one biometric USB token included in all bundles (can also be purchased separately).
  • Supports the use of PIN (optional) and biometrics (optional) for multi-factor authentication with USB token.
  • End users can easily set up and manage their own USB tokens instead of requiring administrators for setup. Convenient wizard prompts end user to automatically set up the token and select a PIN (if required by administrator).
  • Relieves administrators from time-consuming password lookups and resets:
    • End users can de-register their own USB token, should the device be lost, stolen or temporarily misplaced. They don’t need to wait for an administrator to cut off access.
    • Administrator can also de-register any end user’s USB token, even if the device is not in administrator’s possession.
