SAFremote Authenticator™
Citrix MetaFrame, Remote Desktop, and Terminal Services Integration
SAFremote Authenticator is an add-on product from
Saflink that enables strong authentication over terminal
and remote sessions. With SAFremote Authenticator installed
on the terminal or remote clients, end-users benefit
from the exact same secure authentication, client functionality
and user experience as if they were located on secured
local workstations. Enterprise administrators can now
take full advantage of these terminal and remote solutions
while matching the same high level of security and
identity management of their local workstations.
SAFremote Authenticator 1.1 supports the following:
- Citrix® MetaFrame® Access
Suite - allows enterprises to provide a secure,
single point of access to enterprise applications
and data while ensuring a consistent user experience.
Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite enables administrators
to deliver, manage, monitor, and measure enterprise
resources on demand. Utilizes ICA client connections,
Citrix’ terminal connection.
- Windows® Terminal Services -
allows enterprises to provide Windows-based applications
and Windows desktop to a wide range of clients, including
those that cannot run Windows. When using Terminal
Services, the application execution takes place on
the server, and only keyboard, mouse and display information
is sent over the terminal connection. Utilizes Microsoft’s
Terminal Services client connections, called Remote
Desktop Connection (RDC).
- XP Remote Desktop - allows users
to access applications, files and network resources
on a remote computer running Windows XP Professional
from any other Windows-based workstation. Utilizes
Remote Desktop Connection (RDC), same as Windows
Terminal Services.
Key Features of Saflink products + SAFremote
Authenticator:
- Tight Integration with Operating Environment – Saflink
solutions are tightly integrated into popular operating environments – Microsoft® Active
Directory® and Novell® eDirectory® – allowing
administrators to extend (not replace) and strengthen their existing
infrastructures. Secure authentication credentials and user logon preferences
are stored in the user directory. Saflink administration plugs in seamlessly
to existing user directory management tools.
- Mix and Match Strong Authentication – take
advantage of a wide variety of strong authentication technologies, including
biometrics (fingerprint authentication, iris recognition, speaker verification
and facial recognition) as well as smart cards, proximity cards, radio-frequency
badges and tokens (available off-the-shelf or with professional services).
- Vendor & Technology Independent – supports
a wide variety of biometric hardware devices, allowing enterprises to
choose the technology(s) that best fit the environment.
- Choice of Enrollment Methods – in addition
to administrator-controlled enrollments, administrators may elect to
have users self-enroll (optional or required) the next time they log
on or use the Practice Utility to try out biometrics at their convenience.
- User Authority Delegation™ – allows
assistants and generic account end users to biometrically log on using
another authorized identity, providing essential audit and administrator
controls not possible through password sharing.
- Disconnected Logon – log on to local workstations
in the exact same way, whether connected to a network or not. Use strong
authentication to protect workstations…even when on the road!
- Strong Authentication for Specific Applications – Saflink
products ships with adapters to enable strong authentication into different
Single Sign-On (SSO) programs. SSO use workstation and/or network login
to securely authenticate into specific enterprise and web applications,
further protecting key enterprise assets.
