SecuGen BSP installation (BioAPI)

This article provides installation instructions for the SecuGen BSP.
Driver Installation
Manual Install:
1. Browse to the BSP\SecuGen\BIOAPI\SecuGenDriverInstall v2.0 folder on your Saflink Product CD.
2. Double-click EasyInst.exe to run the setup.
3. Choose the option for USB Driver and click Next at the Welcome screen.
4. Select Hamster or OptiMouse accordingly and click Next.
5. When prompted to, please plug the device in so the installer can apply the appropriate driver.
6. Once the installation finishes, proceed to the BSP install.
NOTE: The SecuGen Driver setup does not currently support silent install parameters.
BSP installation
Manual Install:
1. Browse to the BSP\SecuGen\BIOAPI folder.
2. Double-click the Setup.exe file to run the setup and follow the screen prompts to install the BSP.
3. The installation may require a restart. If so, please allow the system the restart so the BSP installation may complete.
Silent Install:
The SecuGen BSP setup uses InstallShield for its installation. In order to perform a silent install, the installer must receive a parameter that contains the location of a 'setup.iss' answer file. This file is generated using the /r (record) parameter when executing the Setup.exe file, which records all selected options during an installation. Here's an example of what the contents of this file looks like:

This file is generated in the C:\Windows directory by default. If you create the file manually, you must specify through a combination of silent parameters the filename and location. Here's an example of the command you would add to your script/batch file:
setup.exe /s /sms /f1c:\windows\setup.iss
The above command will execute the SecuGen's BSP installer in silent mode, using the options recorded in the specified setup.iss file located in the C:\Windows directory.
NOTE: There is no space between /f1 and the fully qualified filename.
